A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be rather easy in case you have a Linux website hosting plan with our company. You can activate this feature through our advanced, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve created listed alphabetically and on the right-hand side of each one there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly notify you whether a certain mailbox gets all the emails associated with a given domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature whenever you like. In case there’s activated email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain, you’ll get a notification from our system. The latter won’t disable/replace anything automatically or without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be activated with ease in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domains hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll find a tiny button handily located right next to each of them. With just one single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this option using the context menu that will come into view. In case any of the requirements for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
